A colleague once gave me a leaf from a plant he had brought back from holiday. It's one of the most resilient plants I have. You can just put a leaf on top of some soil and it will plant itself and grow like some crazy thing. I've even had leaves fall off the plant and grow a new plant on the floor with no soil at all. Its a little bit like the day of the Triffids.
